Lightkeeper sits in a locked room on the third floor of the lighthouse building on Lighthouse. The bridge to him is guarded by Zryachiy and carpeted with Claymores. There is exactly one way in: a working Digital secure DSP radio transmitter, earned through a six-quest chain from Mechanic.
Before the chain opens
With that karma, Network Provider - Part 1 unlocks in one of three ways:
- Progressing through the story chapter Batya, or
- Progressing through The Ticket, or
- Completing this set of quests: A Fuel Matter, Broadcast - Part 2, Cargo X - Part 4, Chemical - Part 4 (or Out of Curiosity or Big Customer), Courtesy Visit, Database - Part 2, Gunsmith - Part 10, House Arrest - Part 1, Lost Contact, Seaside Vacation, The Cult - Part 2, The Huntsman Path - Forest Cleaning and The Punisher - Part 4.
The unlock chain
Six quests, all from Mechanic, in this exact order. Click any of them for the full objective list and item locations on the wiki.
- Network Provider - Part 1 All four are common flea-market items — but they must be found in raid, so buying them is not an option. Start hoarding them the moment you know you are going for Lightkeeper.
- Network Provider - Part 2 Place 4 Radio repeaters on Lighthouse: inside the MI-8 helicopter at the water treatment plant, inside the abandoned USEC cottage, at high elevation overlooking the lighthouse, and on the roof of the sunken building at the shore. Repeaters cannot go in special slots — carry them in your secure container and expect several raids, or two per raid with an Epsilon or Theta.
- Assessment - Part 1
- Assessment - Part 2
- Assessment - Part 3 SJ1 and SJ6 can be crafted at Medstation levels 2 and 3, which is far cheaper than running The Lab for them. SJ9 comes from Cultists or The Lab.
- Key to the Tower Find in raid: 2× Pieces of plexiglass, 1× Insulating tape, 2× Military circuit boards, 1× Military COFDM Wireless Signal Transmitter, 1× Working LCD — plus a Radio transmitter body, which only spawns on Lighthouse around the USEC positions (water treatment plant, the chalets, the tennis court, the convenience store, the sunken building). This is the transponder that switches off the mines and stops Zryachiy shooting you.
Finishing the chain leads into Knock-Knock, which is the quest that actually walks you across the bridge and introduces you to Lightkeeper in person.
The one mistake that undoes all of it
Harming Zryachiy, one of his followers, or a Lightkeeper-acquainted PMC anywhere on the lighthouse premises will decode your transmitter if you have it equipped — and in local PvE raids, unequipping it does not save you. A decoded transmitter means the mines are live and the sniper is hostile again.
PMCs who are already acquainted with Lightkeeper can kill unacquainted intruders on the island with no penalty at all. Until you finish the chain, you are the intruder.
Practical order of work
- Get Scav karma to +1 first — everything else is blocked behind it, and karma is slow.
- Start hoarding the Part 1 hand-ins from day one. Four of each, found in raid, is more grind than it sounds.
- Do the repeater placements on a throwaway kit. The four spots are fixed and well known, which is exactly why people camp them.
- Craft SJ1 and SJ6 stims in the hideout rather than farming The Lab for them.
- Bring a friend or go quiet for the Radio transmitter body — the USEC areas on Lighthouse are the busiest part of the map.
